University Founding and Establishment

1419H/1999 is considered an exceptional year for university education in Asir, when the noble royal order was issued on Tuesday, 9/1/1419H to integrate the two branches of Al-Imam Mohammad bin Saud Islamic University and King Saud University to a single unified university, called King Khalid University. Its establishment was announced by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz - May Allah bless his soul - , while he was the Crown Prince. It became the eighth university in the Kingdom. The university started with integrating the branches' colleges and have been restructured a few times later.
