 Colleges’ Establishment

1- The College of Sharia and Religion Fundamentals: Established in 1396H under the name "The College of Sharia and the Arabic Language". In 1401H, it was divided into two colleges, the first was names "The College of Sharia and Religion Fundamentals", and the second was named "The College of the Arabic Language and Community Sciences". 

2- The College of Humanities: The College of the Arabic Language and Community Sciences was established in 1401H, and following the order of the University Education Council in 1420H, it was renamed "The College of the Arabic Language and Community and Administrative Sciences". It was later renamed "The College of Humanities" in 1429H

3- The College of Education: Established in 1396H/1976

4- The College of Medicine: The College of Medicine for males in Abha was established in 1400H. In 1420H, the university was restructured and the college was renamed "The College of Medicine and Medical Sciences". The College was later renamed "The College of Medicine" in 1424H, following the opening of a new College, "The College of Applied Medical Sciences".

5- The College of Science: Established in 1419H.

6- The College of Language and Translation: Established as an institute for English and translation, when the English department from King Saud University's College of Education and the College of Arabic and Community Sciences' English and Translation Department from the Al-Imam Mohammad bin Saud Islamic University merged in 1420H. It was later renamed "The College of Language and Translation" in 1424H. 

7- The College of Engineering: Established in 1420H

8- The College of Computer Science: Established in 1420H

9- The College of Pharmacy: Established in 1422H.

10- The College of Applied Sciences: Established in 1420H under the name "The College of Medicine and Medical Sciences". It was later renamed to "The College of Applied Medical Sciences" in 1424H. 

11- The College of Dentistry: Established in 1421H.

12- The College of Nursing: Established in 1427H.

13- The Applied College: Established as the "The Community College" in 1424H, and later renamed to "The Applied College" in 1442H

14- The College of Home Economics: the Home Economics Department was a part of the College of Education for females since 1421H, and when the female colleges merged with the university in 1429H, it was transformed into the "The College of Management and Home Economics". It was later renamed to "The College of Home Economics" in 1440H

15- The College of Business: The departments of this university were under the umbrella of the College of the Arabic Language and Community Sciences at the Al-Imam Mohammad bin Saudi Islamic University, and when the university was first established and restructured in 1420H, the college was renamed, "The College of the Arabic Language and Community and Administrative Sciences". "The College of Administrative and Financial Sciences" was established and separated from the College of Humanities in 1429H, and was later renamed "The College of Business" in 1439H.
